Telegram TON blockchain is facing more phishing attacks. SlowMist (a blockchain security company), warned about these increasing threats to TON’s decentralized apps and its millions of users on June 23.
Telegram TON blockchain, is seeing a rise in phishing attacks, warns the security firm SlowMist. According to SlowMist’s founder, Yu Xian, the rapid growth of the Telegram TON blockchain ecosystem has made it more vulnerable, especially in message groups where phishing links and fake bot forms are common.

Telegram TON blockchain Ecosystem Booms
Yu Xian, the founder of SlowMist, warned about recent security breaches in the TON blockchain. He said the rapid growth of the TON ecosystem has made it an attractive target for phishing attackers. These attackers exploit weaknesses in the system, especially by easily infiltrating message groups.
“The Telegram TON blockchain ecosystem is too open, and many phishing links and fake bots are spread through message groups, airdrops, and other tricks to steal users’ TON wallets in large numbers,” Xian explained.
Telegram Anonymous Numbers
Xian pointed out a major concern. The risk to Telegram users with anonymous numbers. Introduced in late 2022, these accounts don’t need a traditional SIM card and use blockchain-based anonymous numbers from platforms like Fragment. While this improves user privacy, it also makes them more vulnerable to phishing attacks.
Xian warned that if accounts are compromised through phishing attacks, users could lose access to their Telegram accounts. This risk is especially high for those who haven’t set up extra security measures like separate passwords or two-step verification.

Broader Security Concerns
Blockchain apps, especially those linked to messaging platforms like Telegram, are facing more security problems lately. This includes a recent rise in phishing attacks targeting the TON blockchain. These attacks show that as blockchain technology gets more popular, so do the tricks scammers use to steal people’s money.
For example, the Solana-based Telegram trading bot Solareum recently shut down after a security breach allowed hackers to steal over 2,800 SOL, worth about $520,000, from more than 300 Solana users. Similarly, in February, the Web3 security company Blowfish found two new types of Solana wallet drainers that can carry out advanced attacks.
The security firm Scam Sniffer reported that wallet drainers stole $295 million from over 300,000 users in 2023. These thieves are using more advanced methods to steal users’ funds.
The increase in phishing attacks on the Telegram TON blockchain shows the importance of better security measures. Users should use stronger security practices, like enabling two-step verification and using unique passwords, to protect their accounts and money. As Telegram TON blockchain technology changes, strategies to defend against these smart and persistent threats must also change.
